
Millets Food Fest in Kerala For the first time in our history with national tastes
It was a novel experience for some 137 participants of the Global Millets Foundation ( GMF) inauguration at Mel Mana Gardens—Ooramana—Kerala –India , that they were treated with some 25 items of millets only dinner. It was both wholesome and pleasing to eyes and tongue alike. The mouth-watering food items included:

It was an eye opener for the participants that millets can be cooked with more taste than our rice and wheat food items. All items were cooked with minimum oil and fully natural masalas like turmeric, coriander power. Only tomatoes were used in the place of tamarind. There was no red chili powder any where in the cooking.
It was delicious and people knew that millets can be better than rice and wheat when considering its taste aspects too.
For wellness enthusiasts, it was a great feast. Even critics of millets conceded that Millets are really better than our much-used food otherwise.
There is popular demand for the millets food fest from the participants who came from Calicut, Pala, Piravom, Thodupuzha and Ernakulam.
In such places, the Kerala Chapter Chairman of the Global Millets Foundation Mr Nassar and the team would demonstrate live cooking for the participants.
There was a national taste in the food fest . Tree of Life Centre Foundation ( TLCF) from Prayagraj—Allahabad– UP entrained the participants with their own ready-to-eat biscuits made of millet and other cookies. It has provided a wonderful taste to the food fest. It was personally overseen by Ms. Bhavna Kauler with the senior member of the TLCF Shri Patel, who came to attend the inauguration of the Global Millets Foundation.
Here in the inauguration function, the role played by Mr Nassar and his team mostly, his own family members was admirable.
After the GMF inauguration, the participants were entertained with delicious food made up of millet like Soup, Cake, chapatis and curries apart from several other items like cookies and the payasam.
The chapatis -Rottis– were made by the UP team of Ms Bhavna and Mr Patel.
