A Memorable AGM – Gratitude and Reflections

Dear New Governing Board Members and Respected Executive Chairman of GMF,

It was indeed one of the most memorable days in the recent history of the Global Millets Foundation (GMF), as we convened a well-organized and vibrant Annual General Meeting (AGM) — in keeping with our best traditions.

Although the mandatory quorum required only 15 eligible members, we were pleased to begin with 39 members in attendance, which eventually rose to 47 as the meeting progressed. This enthusiastic participation is a true reflection of the growing relevance and credibility of GMF.

During the meeting, we successfully constituted a new Governing Board, while expressing our heartfelt thanks to the outgoing members, who stepped down due to personal reasons. We are also proud to announce the elevation of our former Executive Chairman, Dr. K.P.P. Nambiar, to the newly created and prestigious role of Patron & Chief Policy Advisor.

The newly elected Governing Board is as follows:
Prof. Dr. Mathew Abraham – Executive Chairman (M)

Dr. P.O. Abraham – Executive Secretary (M)

Dr. K.M. George – Secretary General (LM)

Mr. K.V. Murukan – Treasurer (LM)

Mr. Ajikumar Nayar – Marketing & Media Advisor (LM)

Mr. M.A. Joy – Assistant Secretary & Registration Advisor (LM)

Er. Thampi Joseph – Logistics & VIP Guests Advisor (M)

Mr. Nasar Ezhathinikkad – Millets & Wellness Advisor (LM)

Mr. Sabu George – Advisor – Finances & Resources (M)

Dr. Achamma Thomas – Advisor & Facilitator to Source Keynote Speakers

We warmly welcome each of you on board and extend our best wishes as you embark on this new chapter of leadership. May you guide us into new frontiers and greener pastures, expanding the horizons of GMF and its parent body, the Sustainable Development Forum (SDF).

Please know that you are the salt of the GMF — the ones who give it flavor, strength, and meaning. Let us together strive to make a qualitative difference in reaching out to the voiceless and marginalized, carrying forward the banner of millets for wellness.

Wishing you all a fulfilling and rewarding time with GMF.

Melmana Gardens, Ooramana, Near Muvattupuzha – 26th May 2025

Addressing the 173rd Seminar of the Global Millets Foundation (GMF) and the Sustainable Development Forum (SDF) held at the scenic Melmana Gardens, Mr. John Kuriakose, a self-made business magnate and renowned turnaround expert, inspired the audience with his life journey.

Delivering the keynote address, Mr. Kuriakose narrated his remarkable rise to the top of the global business world over three decades—achieved through sheer hard work, unwavering faith in God, and an unrelenting pursuit of his dreams. He emphasized that dreams, when pursued with determination and divine grace, can indeed lead one to achieve the ultimate goals in life.

Calling upon the youth to dream big, Mr. Kuriakose urged them to shun drugs and other fleeting pleasures, and instead cultivate clean habits, personal hygiene, punctuality, and discipline. “Sacrifices and devotion to God perfect the success story,” he declared, receiving wide appreciation from the attendees.

The seminar was chaired by Dr. Mathew Abraham, moderated by Rev. Dr. Abraham Mulamootil, and featured addresses by Dr. K.M. George, Secretary-General of GMF, along with Dr. Blau Mathews Edayath, Dr. P.O. Abraham, Mr. Jacob Thumpayil, Mr. Ashok Nair, and Mr. Nazar Ezhathikikad. The seminar was formally inaugurated by Dr. K.P.P. Nambiar, who praised GMF & SDF for their sustained efforts in grassroots development and millet advocacy.
